If we don’t have the book you are looking for we are happy to borrow it from another library through our inter-library loan system, or possibly add it to our book order list. We welcome suggestions and requests for materials you enjoy.
If there is a book you would like to read, or a subject you would like to explore more deeply than what we have at the Dr. Shaw Library you can ask the librarians to get it for you by borrowing the book from another library.
You will need to provide us with the title and author of the book you are looking for, or specific information about the subject or topic you want. Other libraries are searched through what is called an inter-library loan system.
It generally takes about 5 days to receive a book from another library. A librarian will notify you as soon as the book arrives. The length of time an inter-library loan book can be kept varies according to the lending library. Inter-library loan books can generally be renewed if needed. There is no charge to you for this service.
